About the Artist: Tuesday Pope
Artist Tuesday Pope is a business savvy woman with a flair for creativity. While her love for business started from birth (she would often be found pretending to own a store on the playground with perhaps far too much accuracy for one so young) as did her love for video games, her plush toy sewing began around the age of 15. Before that, she was constantly seeking various other creative outlets, always driven by a desire to create something you could hold in your hands.
From there, it was a climb of many mistakes and failures until she nestled comfortably into her niche with plenty of room left to grow. What started as a hobby has evolved into her passion and further edges its way in to be a full time career. Her first manufactured design, a Jellyfish plush, debuted in 2018 and a keychain soon followed. Her next two manufactured plush, a line of kawaii sharks, is coming in 2019. She has helped independent companies with plush designs here and there. She plans to over see many more sea creature designs for her line in the years to come. No surprise she's inspired by the aquarium where she works part time. Currently she can be found either peddling wares in various convention artist alleys or sitting at her desk covered in fabric scraps. Occasionally she'll pour way too much time into a video game or a rousing round of Magic the Gathering which always ends in brutality and then feel bad about it because she could have been sewing. About the Partner: Michael Sullivan
Michael Sullivan is many things, loving fiance, amazing artist, and destroyer of dreams at any game he touches. He's the behind the scenes guy. Most of the buttons are created or arranged by him, most con table set ups he has a hand in ziptie-ing and constructing, and he has a knack for product ideas. At conventions, he helps run the table, grab food, provide moral support, set up and take down displays, and understands what the artist means when she calls something a doughnut. This business wouldn't run as smoothly without him and we're lucky to have him aboard.
When not herding the burgeoning imagination of Hibiscus Stitch owner Tuesday Pope, he's usually at work or indulging in his own hobbies. Or being an amazing partner. Hobbies include being awesome at Warhammer and delving into the lore of the game, crafting magic the gathering decks and playing with his friends that get way too salty over cards, and playing video games. He also is a humongous nerd. Michael is very crafty and paints warhammer models and is a burgeoning 3D modeler and 3D printing artist. Loves: Video games, warhammer, magic, and other nerdy things Hates: unreasonable people Location: NC, USA |
